Rachel Pasternak is very proud to be serving as cantorial soloist for CRT since 2007. She brings to this congregation her passion for Jewish music and joy for assisting this wonderful community’s prayers through song.
A classically trained singer, Rachel is home-grown, having received her initial Jewish education and cantorial music mentoring right at CRT. At Yale University, she majored in Judaic Studies and led Reform services at the Yale Hillel (Joseph Slifka Center for Jewish Life at Yale).
During her undergraduate years she also led the Reform High Holidays services at Boston University. In her early twenties, she filled in as a substitute cantor at various congregations before beginning her tenure as soloist at CRT.
Rachel leads the congregation in song at least one Shabbat service a month, Bar/Bat Mitzvah services, and most holidays.
