Rabbi Judith Cohen-Rosenberg became CRT’s spiritual leader in 1992, Rabbi Judy, as she prefers to be called, is a native of Brooklyn, and previously served congregations in Rochester and Olean in upstate New York. Rabbi Judy is the head of our religious school and teaches the Confirmation class.
A well-known fixture throughout the community and beyond, Rabbi Judy has chaired UJA’s Long Island Rabbinic Advisory Council as well as the current president of the East Meadow Interfaith Clergy Association. Rabbi Judy also serves on the board of Planned Parenthood of Nassau County and works closely with the East Meadow School District administration to assure that sensitivity to the Jewish community is considered in scheduling and programming.
“My love of Judaism and the Jewish people prompted me to become a rabbi,” she says. “I share that appreciation and a deep understanding of Jewish life with all our CRT family.”
